Under Australia’s universal visa system, all visitors to Australia must have a valid visa to travel to and enter Australia (other than New Zealand passport holders who will normally be granted a Special Category visa on arrival, provided they meet health and character requirements.
There are many visa options available to people wishing to visit Australia. The appropriate visa option will depend, amongst other things, on the person’s purpose for visiting Australia. Please refer to the Visa Application Requirements Factsheet for information about visa application requirements.
NB: These are the visa options available presently but the Department reserves the right to change regulations.
We recommend you apply for your visa at least six weeks before your intended date of travel to Australia (or two weeks if you are from an ETA or eVisitor eligible country) as visa processing times may vary. To apply for an Electronic Travel Authority visa please go to: https://www.eta.immi.gov.au/ETAS3/etas
To assist with the timely processing by Australia’s visa offices overseas the Australian Waste to Energy Forum has been registered with the Department of Immigration and Border Protection’s International Event Coordinator Network.
